My Current Progress
This month was a nice boost in dividend payments, as it was my second highest monthly payment this year. There are a lot of popular large companies that pay every three months starting with month 3, then 6, then 9, etc. Since this was month 6, I got a nice check from many of these companies.
My June 2019 results this year is much higher than my June 2018 dividend payments as my portfolio has grown a little bit in the past year. With more money invested in large stable companies.
January and April are my other two large dividend payments this year as SPY was the core of my portfolio. I’ve since removed SPY holdings from my dividend portfolio as the S&P already makes up the majority of my 401(k) and IRA accounts. Because of that, I felt like it would be redundant to have SPY in my dividend portfolio if my retirement accounts were already invested in mostly the US stock market.
Conclusion
I’m more than 50% towards my goal of $4,500 this year in dividend payments. Given this dividend schedule and expected payout streams, it’s unlikely I will reach my goal by December but at least I will have made a very strong effort in getting close to my goal.
